Change of Conductor (Vladimir Fedoseyev, conductor for November concerts)

Vladimir Fedoseyev, who was scheduled to conduct the NHK Symphony Orchestra concert at NHK Music Festival 2023 (Monday, November 20th at NHK Hall) and the NHK Symphony Orchestra November Subscription Concerts Program A (Saturday, November 25th & Sunday, November 26th at NHK Hall), has had to follow his doctor’s advice to cancel his trip to Japan due to health reasons.

With this decision, concerts will be held under the conductors as shown below. The programs and soloists will remain the same. There will be no refunds due to the change.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and especially for those who were looking forward to the concerts under Maestro Fedoseyev's baton, and we appreciate your kind understanding.

Akito Hiraishi studied conducting with Tatsuya Shimono and Masahiko Okochi at Ueno Gakuen University, and Junichi Hirokami and Toshifumi Tashiro at Tokyo College of Music, then went to Europe in 2017 to pursue further studies under the tutelage of Johannes Wildner at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. In September 2021, he became an assistant to Paavo Järvi, then Chief Conductor of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, and since January 2022, he has been engaged as Assistant conductor with NHK Symphony Orchestra. He has conducted the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hiroshima Wind Orchestra, and the NHK Symphony Orchestra’s chamber music concerts. In the event of Pokémon x NHK Symphony Orchestra Special Orchestra 2023, he conducted the NHK Symphony Orchestra Special Orchestra. He is expanding his range of activities in the field of operatic works, on the other hand, serving as an assistant to Marek Janowski in Lohengrin in the Spring Festival in Tokyo, and to Tatsuya Shimono in Fidelio, an opera celebrating the inauguration of the Rohm Theater.

Conductor : Hiroe Yukawa  (Second Half of Program A)

Hiroe Yukawa graduated from the Department of Conducting, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts, and its Graduate School of Music, majoring in conducting. She has studied conducting under Ken Takaseki, Kazufumi Yamashita, Tadaaki Otaka, and Yoshikazu Tanaka, and piano with Chitose Koike, Satoko Tokumaru, and Tomoko Kato. In 2018, she took a master class with Jorma Panula in Spain, and participated in the graduation concert held at Teatro Carlos III, then in 2021, passing the audition by Riccardo Muti, she studied at the Riccardo Muti Italian Opera Academy in Tokyo, and performed at Riccardo Muti Introduces: Macbeth by Young Musicians at the Spring Festival in Tokyo. She also attended a master class hosted by the Jette Parker Artists Programme at the Royal Opera in London and conducted the City of London Sinfonia in its final concert held at the Linbury Theatre. Since September 2021, she has worked as an assistant to Paavo Järvi at the NHK Symphony Orchestra, and since January 2022, she has been engaged as Assistant conductor with NHK Symphony Orchestra.
