Change of Soloist (December Subscription Concert Program A/ The 2000th Subscription Concert)

Elena Stikhina (soprano), who was scheduled to perform in this concert, will not be able to travel to Japan due to personal reasons. Jacquelyn Wagner will sing the role, instead.

The program, the conductor and the rest of the soloists will remain the same. We appreciate your understanding.

Jacquelyn Wagner, soprano

American soprano Jacquelyn Wagner has made appearances at the world’s most prestigious opera houses and festivals, including the Opéra national de Paris, the Teatro alla Scala, Milan, the Opernhaus Zürich, the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona, the Deutsche Oper Berlin and Salzburg Easter Festival singing a wide range of repertoire. She has received high acclaim for her "lovely clean and focused sound" (The New York Times) and "a natural dignity and vocal command" (Opera News) in her performances. She has also made remarkable concert appearances, including Mahler’s Symphony of a Thousand with the Gewandhausorchester conducted by Andris Nelsons and with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under Vasily Petrenko in the 2022-23 season.
Jacquelyn Wagner studied at the Manhattan School of Music and at the Oakland University of Michigan and has won numerous international competitions, including the International Voice Competition Francisco Vinas and the Voice Competition Renata Tebaldi. This is her first collaboration with the NHK Symphony Orchestra.
