Changes in Artists and Programs for January Subscription Concerts

Due to the government’s announcement on November 29th to tighten border control to prevent the omicron variant from spreading, measures to ban all incoming new foreign visitors to enter Japan are still in effect as of December 20th. Under such circumstances, necessary entry paperwork for the invitation of Tugan Sokhiev (conductor / Program B & Ikebukuro Program C), Vadim Gluzman (Violin / Ikebukuro Program C) and Haochen Zhang (Piano / Program B) to the NHK Symphony Orchestra’s January subscription concerts cannot proceed. Therefore we have changed the conductor and soloists of Program B & Ikebukuro Program C as well as partial program for Program B of the January subscription concert series. Your understanding is highly appreciated.
