Announcing the line-up for the new season subscription programs! (September 2018 – June 2019)

The 2018-19 season subscription concert programs have been released. In the new season, which runs from September 2018 to June 2019, a gorgeous line-up consisting of world-renowned as well as up-and-coming conductors will be appearing on stage with the NHK Symphony Orchestra.

Paavo Järvi, who will be in his 4th season since assuming the position of Chief Conductor, will lead the orchestra in the months of September, February and June, conducting diversified programs featuring works from Bach, Haydn and Beethoven to Mahler, Stravinsky and Messiaen.

Honorary Conductor Laureate Herbert Blomstedt will be returning to the podium in October to take up much-anticipated programs of Bruckner and Mahler.

Furthermore, in addition to frequently appearing conductors for the Orchestra’s subscription concerts such as Gianandrea Noseda (in November), Tugan Sokhiev (in January) and Neeme Järvi (in May), young and brilliant Czech conductor Jakub Hrůša will make his debut with the Orchestra in April.

Next season’s subscription concerts are sure to delight audience members of all ages.
